“Shiroshi is an exploration into the ephemeral beauty of light, looking at the qualities of movement.
Inspired by how the Japanese have handled light, with a reverence to shadows and the changing quality of light, it is interested in the quality of light, as much as form, mimicking the flow of natural light by refracting light through water.
Within LED’s are connected to an Arduino making the light flow like natural light.
Then the light refracts through water, producing an effect where light has movement, contrasting the overly static artificial light, which lacks the nuance of beautiful natural light.”
